Panchkula, Haryana


Panchkula is the well known and well developed district of Haryana.

Panchkula is a planned city in Panchkula District, Haryana, India. It is a satellite city of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. There are five towns in the district named Panchkula,Barwala Pinjore, Kalka and Raipur Rani. The only Hill station in Haryana called Morni Hillsis also in this District.

The district came into existence in the mid of last decade of 20th century. The district is also associated with Pandavas who enroute to Himalayas during their exile stayed here for some times.

The main language spoken in Panchkula district is Hindi and Punjabi. Haryanvi is the state language so it is used in most of the Headquarters of main office of Haryana lies here.

The district lies in a region where earthquakes of moderate to high intensity have been felt in the past. Being situated at the Himalayan boundary fault zones it is prone to earthquakes.

It is a well developed district of Haryana with lots of schools and good health facility. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people here.

It has lot of tourist palaces which attracts lot of tourist not only from India but from all over the world. It has many Hotels, Tourist Complex and Guest /Rest Houses for the accommodation purposes.
