Chandigarh is the Union Territory and it is the only city of India which receives the pride to be a capital of two main state of India i.e. Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh, is the the dream city of India's first Prime Minister, Sh. Jawahar Lal Nehru, and it was planned by the famous French architect Le Corbusier. It is located at the foothills of Shivaliks, and derives its name from the Chandi Mandir . The city has a pre-historic past. About 8000 years ago the area was also known to be a home to the Harappans.

There are many beautiful parks and places in the city which attracts lot tourist from all over the world. Like Leisure Valley, Rajendra Park, Bougainvillea Park, Zakir Rose Garden, Shanti Kunj, Hibiscus Garden, Garden of Fragrance, Botanical Garden, Smriti Upavan, Topiary garden and Terraced Garden are some of the famous parks of Chandigarh.

Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Government Museum and Art Gallery are major tourist attractions of Chandigarh.

The roads and the markets of the city are well planned. An integrated system of seven roads was designed to ensure efficient traffic circulation. It has many educational Institutes all are well panned and well designed.
