National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2012-2013 scholarship exam for X class students

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is going to be conducted on 17th November 2012 to award the scholarship for class X students. SCERT, Gurgaon conduct National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Scheme every year for the students of class VIII. But from this year MHRD has agreed that NMMS and NTS Examination will be delinked and NTS Examination will be held for Class X for selecting 1000 candidates to award scholarship of Rs. 500/- per month. There will be two separate test papers for NTSE and NMMS.

NTSE 2012-2013 Eligibility criteria

To apply for NTSE 2012-2013 candidate must be a student of class X.

How to apply for NTSE 2012-2013

To apply for NTSE 2012-2013 application form can be purchased from the district centers only all over Haryana. Application from can also be obtained from the NCERT website. Students can submit the Duly filled Application forms at district centers only.

NTS Examination 2012 Important dates

- Application forms and prospectus for NTS Examination 2012-2013 will be available from 1st September 2012

- Last date to apply for NTSE 2012-2013: 31st October 2012

- NTSE 2012-2013 examination date: 18th November, 2012 and in A&N Islands, Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya it will be held on Saturday 17th November 2012

- National level NTS examination for the academic session 2012-13 will be held on 12th May, 2013

NTS Examination 2012 examination pattern

There will be 90 items in Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) at the state level of one mark each. Duration of the exam will be 90 minutes for MAT and SAT separately as decided the number of questions allocated for each subject will be:

Physics - 12
Chemistry - 11
Biology - 12
Mathematics - 20
History - 10
Geography - 10
Pol. Science - 10
Economics - 05
